MANDATORY REPORTING
Protecting Children Is Everyone’s Responsibility
At the Children’s Advocacy Center – First Judicial District, our mission is to combat child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse by coordinating and providing services to children in a safe, caring environment.
Mandatory reporting laws exist to ensure that when abuse is suspected, action is taken immediately. These laws are designed to protect children from continued harm and to connect them with the services they need for safety and healing.
Every child deserves protection. Every concern deserves to be taken seriously.
The Importance of Reporting
Child abuse often remains hidden. Many children are afraid to speak, unsure who to trust, or unable to fully understand what is happening to them. Adults play a critical role in recognizing warning signs and taking action.

A Community Commitment to Safety
Mandatory reporting is more than a legal obligation. It is a commitment to protecting children and strengthening our community.
When concerns are reported, abuse can be stopped.
When adults act, children are protected.
When communities stand together, healing begins.
If you suspect child sexual abuse or severe physical abuse, take action immediately. Your decision to report could change a child’s future.
